We currently participate in one affiliate program: GetYourGuide. When you book a tour or activity through a GetYourGuide link on this site, we may earn a commission. You never pay more by using these links — the price is identical to booking directly on GetYourGuide.
Not every commercial link is an affiliate link
Many links on this site point to official operators and services — ferry companies,
railways, coastal voyage lines (Hurtigruten, Havila), hotels, booking platforms and
tourism boards — as unmonetized references. We include them because
they are the primary source for prices and schedules, not because we earn anything
from them. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page
code, as search engine guidelines require.
Commissions and editorial judgment
- Commissions help pay for hosting and maintenance of the site.
- Editorial recommendations are based on usefulness for your trip — season, location, logistics — not on whether a link pays us.
- Where a non-affiliate option is the better advice (for example, booking directly with a local operator, or not booking a tour at all), the guide should say so.
